In 1920, St. Teresa's Primary was established as the educational and cultural beacon of the hilly village of Nedumkunnam, with classes one and two in a makeshift shed in the courtyard of a house where a community of Carmelite nuns lived. In 1921, 5th class started. The Primary school grew and became middle school in 1947. Rev. Sr. Augustina is a great person who overcame various difficulties and worked tirelessly to upgrade this school into a high school in 1950. The three-storied high school and two-storied primary school were built and renovated with the help of many generous local and foreign donors.
